Funviralpark CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Several counties in the three states have issued travel advisories or snow emergencies ahead of severe winter weather expected to arrive Thursday night through Friday.
Rain will turn to snow on Thursday night, after temperatures drop above 40 degrees by early Friday morning. Sub-zero winds blow in, gusting 50 miles per hour, making it feel like minus 35 degrees.
Indiana
The Dearborn County-Yellow travel advisory is in effect from 6pm Thursday. A yellow travel advisory is the lowest travel advisory and means that travel and activities may be restricted in certain areas. Residents are advised to use with caution.
kentucky
Kenton County Level 1 Snow Emergency. Valid from 6pm Thursday until lifted. During snow emergencies, vehicles cannot be parked on any right-of-way on any public road when snow depth is greater than 2 inches.
Here are the snow emergency levels according to Kenton County:
- LEVEL 1- CONDITION: Roads are dangerous due to blizzards and/or snow drifts and roads may be icy. Recommendation: Careful driving is recommended.
- Level 2 Condition: The road is dangerous due to a blizzard or snow drift and the road may be icy. Recommendation: Only motorists who need to move should stay in the roadway. Residents are encouraged to contact their employers to see if they are required to come to work.
- Level 3- Condition: All roads are restricted to emergency personnel, business travel, food, medical supplies or treatment, and personal snow clearing operations. Advisory: Only essential travel is recommended. Violators will be subject to prosecution. Residents are encouraged to contact their employers regarding work schedules.
