Our region is under the NEXT Weather Alert from Thursday through Saturday.
Rain will begin Thursday morning and pick up in the late afternoon. Areas of central and north central Pennsylvania will receive snow. But when very warm air begins to arrive, rain washes away the build-up.
At one point, the Philadelphia area could have seen a White Christmas, but hopes were greatly dashed in favor of a warm system that brought heavy rains and strong winds before the brutal Arctic explosion.
Below is the expected line-up for the next three days.
Thursday: rain and wind
Friday: Arctic front and depletion
Saturday: bitter blast
It doesn’t look like it will be a snowy Christmas, but it certainly feels like winter, only in the 20s on Saturday and Sunday.
The last time there was Christmas in the 20’s was in 2000.
This year is likely to be the coldest Christmas in over 20 years.
