RANCHO CORDOVA — One suspect remained in hospital in a violent car chase in Rancho Cordova, while another went missing Thursday night. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said Rancho Cordova police officers attempted to block the vehicle for violating the rules. The driver of the car took off and hit several cars before losing control and hitting Hazel again on Highway 50 near his Avenue. When the vehicle came to a stop, both the vehicle's driver and passengers attempted to flee on foot. Investigators said the driver was hit by a car shortly afterwards. The driver, who has not yet been identified, was taken to a regional hospital and is in stable condition. The passenger was on the run, and the sheriff's office said a search was underway. The crash near Hazel Avenue occurred just before 10pm. No further details have been announced.
