Rain first. This morning the wind is blowing from the southeast, and the torrent is pouring down.
Wind with rain. Gusts can be up to 60 (and a little more) along the coast. Expect 40-50 elsewhere in this burst.
According to the National Weather Service, a rare hurricane strong wind warning was issued along the southeastern coast of Maine.
The rain will taper off in the morning, then lull or pause with wind and rain.
It will resume in the early afternoon with heavy rain and strong winds. This goes much faster, and after it passes the cold pours in.

This is the same cold air that has been trapped in the plains since last weekend when this giant storm finally broke loose.
Strong winter storms are already making their presence felt in many states.

Winds will continue through Saturday, with occasional gusts of nearly 40. Wind cooling is expected to remain in the high single digits, in the 10s.
