If you're looking for an entry-level sports car and don't know what to choose, we recommend checking out the Nissan 350Z. Yes, it's also a great starter car for drifting. But if you don't like sideways driving and just want an affordable and fast car, the 350Z is a good option. Here are four reasons you can persuade yourself to search for one.
1. Nissan 350Z is cheap these days
The Nissan 350Z had a suggested retail price of $36,500 when new. These days you can find used samples much cheaper. how cheap? A recent nationwide search on CarGurus found examples of the 350Z selling for around $5,000 to $28,000, depending on the car's mileage, condition and location. Keep in mind that the more expensive ones are in better condition, so if you aim a little lower, you can find ones with lower mileage in better condition.
2. The 350Z has an old but timeless design
The Nissan 350Z was built in the early 2000s, but it still retains its timeless design. Hot Cars said: It also takes inspiration from the 240Z for the long bonnet and the 300ZX for the rear hatch. ”
we have to agree. The 350Z may look a little flashy compared to the sports cars on the market today, but its design has aged considerably over the past 15 years.
3. The 3.5-liter V6 engine under the hood is quite capable
The Nissan 350Z was powered by the venerable VQ35DE V6 engine found in many other Nissan models. The Z produced 287 hp and 268 lb-ft of torque. That was a solid number at the time, and not bad by today's standards. With his optional six-speed manual shifter, the 350Z allows him to accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds.
In 2007, Nissan revamped the engine to 305 horsepower and increased the redline to 7,500 rpm. So if you want your 350Z to be a little more lively, we recommend looking for a model from that year or later.
4. More of a touring car, but the Nissan 350Z handles well
Weighing in at about 3,200 pounds, the Nissan 350Z was more of a toe-sparkling touring car than a razor-sharp canyon carver. But thanks to the mid-mounted front engine, responsive steering and excellent weight distribution provided excellent handling characteristics. That said, the 350Z does its job in terms of delivering a sporty experience, but it's also great for cruising.
The Nissan 350Z is a good sports car to begin with
If you're looking for a sports car but are on a tight budget, the Nissan 350Z is the perfect choice. Its powerful engine, inexpensive price and nimble handling make it an excellent value proposition. Maybe you should check one.
