Rail companies have issued new “no travel” guidance for the first week of 2023.
Northern has issued a warning following the announcement of the strike action by RMT and the ASLEF union will suspend services from Tuesday 3 January to Saturday 7 January.
Northern train service stations in East Lancashire, including Blackburn, Darwen, Accrington, Burnley and Clitheroe.
Chief Operating Officer Tricia Williams said:
For many, Monday January 9th will be their first experience with the new timetable that was launched in December and added 3,000 services a week across the network.
“Therefore, we encourage you to use the new ‘Check My Timetable’ feature on our website to check for changes specific to your local station. ”
The industrial action taking place includes two 48-hour strikes by the RMT on January 3, 4, 6 and 7, while ASLEF members are on strike for a day on January 5. .
Northern is the UK’s second largest railway company, serving over 500 stations in the north of England with around 2,500 trains a day.
