Brooklyn Street Food Park will replace the vacant lot near the intersection of Barnett Street and Live Oak Street with facilities for live entertainment, drinks, onsite dining and food truck connectivity. It is also adjacent to Brooklyn Avenue.
Construction of the field facility began in February and is expected to be completed by the summer, and was submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs on December 23.
Hayes Street Bridge has long been considered the downtown gateway to San Antonio’s economically disadvantaged East Side.
Brooklyn StrEat Food Park was originally marketed as a small business in 2013 alongside other entertainment venues, restaurants and apartments. express news report. The microbrewery that would later become Alamo Beer Co. was also planning to revitalize the East Side community.
