MOSCOW, Idaho – Authorities have arrested a suspect in the November 13 murder of four University of Idaho students, a senior law enforcement official told Fox News Digital.
Brian Christopher Coberger, 28, was taken into custody by local police and the FBI at 3 a.m. in Scranton, Pennsylvania, law enforcement sources said Friday.
Koberger has been charged with first degree murder issued by the Moscow Police Department and the Lata County Prosecutor’s Office in connection with the murders of Ethan Chapin, 20, Zana Carnold, 20, Cary Goncalves, 21, and Madison. was sought for extradition by the Monroe County Court. Mogen, 21 years old.
The suspect is a graduate student at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, according to the university’s website. Pullman is a 15-minute drive from the rental home where four students were stabbed to death.
A press conference is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Moscow, Idaho to announce the decisive conclusion of the case.

A white Hyundai Elantra was towed from the home where the suspect was arrested, law enforcement officials told NBC News.
A mysterious murder initially baffled investigators and deeply disturbed a small university town of 25,000 people.
According to coroners and police, each of the four students was stabbed multiple times in the torso and was likely ambushed in their sleep with a large fixed-blade knife between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m.
The two surviving female roommates who lived in the basement had apparently survived the gruesome attack and slept through it.
Authorities said shortly before noon, a roommate called a friend to the house because he believed one of the victims on the second floor had passed out.

Police responded to a 911 call reporting an unconscious person at 11:58 a.m. from one of the surviving roommates’ phones. Responding officers found him four murdered victims on the second floor and his third.
Moscow police have released a detailed timeline of victim movements before and after the massacre.
Goncalves and Morgen went to the corner club, a bar downtown, and ordered food from the Grab truck around 1:40 am.

The women used a “third party” driver and were home by 1:56 a.m., police said.
Carnodle and her boyfriend Chapin went to a party at Sigma Chi’s house on campus and returned to King Road’s house at 1:45 am.
Moscow Police, which is working with the FBI and the Idaho State Police, said the attack was “targeted.”
Investigators are focused on tracking down a resident of a white 2011-2013 Hyundai Elantra that was found near the home at the time of the murder.
Chapin was a freshman in Mount Vernon, Washington and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. According to the school, he studied recreation, sports and tourism management.

Chapin’s girlfriend, Carnodol, from Avondale, Arizona, was a junior major in marketing and a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.
Morgen is from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, studied marketing, and was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, according to the university.
A native of Rathdrum, Idaho, Gonsalves was a senior general studies student and a member of the Alpha Phi sorority.
She was graduating in early December and was moving to Austin, Texas, where she had a marketing job waiting for her. She was also looking forward to her next trip to Europe.
