Green Bay – The Packers have listed receiver Christian Watson (hip) and cornerback/returner Keithian Nixon (groin) as suspects Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.
Meanwhile, quarterback Aaron Rodgers (right thumb/knee), starting tackles David Bakhtiari (knee/abdomen) and Yosh Nyman (shoulder) are expected to play after not receiving game status. It will be Bakhtiari’s first match since having an emergency appendectomy.
Bakhtiari practiced in limited numbers throughout the week, while Nijman and Rodgers were in full force on Friday.
“Appendix, terrible,” Bakhtiari said Friday. “I wanted to keep going, I wanted to keep playing. I’m not going to skimp on practice, but they give me whatever it takes to prepare me for a game because I want to be there.” Shoot, it’s probably the best I’ve felt in a long time.
Watson returned to practice on a limited basis on Friday, his first fieldwork since leaving the Miami Dolphins in a 26-20 victory. He said he injured his hip at the end of a 10-yard catch on 4 and 1 yards in the second quarter.
Despite not playing in the second half, Watson finished with a career-high six receptions for 49 yards. He has 35 receptions for 496 yards and 7 TD catches on the season.
“I’m feeling better every day,” Watson said.
Nixon hasn’t practiced this week after aggravating a groin injury in Miami. yards) leading the NFL. Kene Nwangwu of Minnesota has 26.0 and he is second.
In addition to Rodgers, Bakhtiari and Nyman, the Packers did not issue game status for the following players: All of these players are expected to be available. Guard/tackle Elgton Jenkins (knee), running back Aaron Jones (knee/ankle), tight end Marcedes Ruiz (veteran rest).
Minnesota center Garrett Bradbury has missed four straight games with a back injury, and defensive end James Lynch has been ruled out.
The Vikings did not release the status of the game between cornerback Cameron Dantzler (ankle) and guard Ezra Cleveland (shoulder).
