Indianapolis Colts quarterback Nick Foles missed Sunday’s game against the New York Giants with a rib injury.

Foles was sacked by Giants edge rusher Kavon Thibodeau late in the second quarter and appeared to land on the ball, which also landed on Foles. The hit left Foles writhing in obvious pain, and his trainer immediately called for Kurt to help him off the field.

As Foals lay on the ground, Thibodeau acted as a snow angel next to him.

Foles was on the surface for a few minutes at MetLife Stadium before he got up and grabbed his lower left hand and walked to the sideline. He talked to his trainer and eventually got into a cart and was kicked off the field.

He was placed in the Colts’ starting lineup for last week’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers after previous starter Matt Ryan’s continued struggles. I could only get points.

Foles finished Sunday’s game 8-for-13 for 81 yards and returned an interception for the Giants’ touchdown.

Injury forced Sam Ehrlinger back into action. Ehrlinger, who started the loss in weeks 8 and 9, threw his pass for his first career touchdown in the third quarter and finished his 14-for-9 with 60 yards.

A 38-10 loss dropped the Colts to 4-11-1. They are vying for one of the top selections in the NFL Draft and are expected to be heavily considered for quarterback selection.
