10 am Atlantic City Police rescued two vehicles near Albany Avenue in Atlantic City Friday morning.

On Friday morning, the Atlantic City Police Department flood truck had to rescue two vehicles stranded in floodwaters. Moderate flooding was seen across most of the Jersey Shore, with hours of tidal flooding before freezing rapidly later in the day.

A high water vehicle was dispatched to the incident to assist with the matter.

The Inside Trophee tide gauge, near Albany and Winchester Avenues, reported a maximum tide height of 7.24 feet above the average low tide, the average of the two low tide heights for the day. It will subside and no more flooding will occur during the day.

Absecon police reported that several roads in the city were closed due to rising water levels.

Jim Eberwine, Absecon's emergency management coordinator, said the town had 18 inches of water at the corner of Illinois Avenue and Shore Road.
