Boston charity receives new donations after storm damages toys

The church itself, located in Walsall Chapel on Boston – Blue Hill Avenue, is quite small. But the need across the Roxbury area is substantial. And the pastor there is desperately asking for help to make Christmas a reality.

Pastor Owens told WBZ Friday’s delivery was canceled due to the weather. Every Saturday their food pantry gives out hundreds of bags of food.

“I said I’d go get anything. They said, ‘No, it’s closed because it’s supposed to be a storm.'” I can’t believe this is happening,” Owens explained.

“We saw this story and run a nonprofit in Salem called Timmy’s Angels. We had toys, coats, hats and mittens. Look at this, I gotta go to Roxbury.” I have to take this down,” said Stacey Sverker. .

Stacy’s work pays tribute to her brother Timmy in heaven. He died when he was 11 years old.

“He was a great character. He liked surprises and stuff like this. It would have been perfect. He would have liked this. I’m going to cry,” the sister said proudly .
