Florida Food Stamps Schedule for January — When You’ll Receive SNAP EBT Payments

SNAP supports low-income seniors, disabled people living on a fixed income, and other low-income households. The Office of Economic Self-Sufficiency (ESS) of the Florida Department of Children and Families (ESS) is responsible for determining SNAP eligibility and distributing profits to her SNAP account in Florida on a fixed monthly schedule. January 2023 benefits can be accessed using the Florida EBT card.

SNAP eligibility is based on the financial status of all members of the household. Florida ESS determines eligibility based on federal guidelines. Florida requires most households to pass a gross income limit of 200% or less of her federal poverty level.

Florida residents can apply for a SNAP through Access Florida, the ESS self-service portal located here. You can also complete the paper application and mail, fax, or return it to your nearest SNAP Service Center. There is also the SUNCAP program. This is a food assistance program for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients. If she is already receiving SNAP benefits, she may automatically be enrolled in her SUNCAP program upon SSI eligibility.

There are other ways to save money with your Florida EBT card. For example, Florida SNAP recipients can sign up for an Amazon Prime EBT discounted subscription for $6.99 per month. EBT cards can also be used for free or discounted admission to hundreds of museums, aquariums and zoos nationwide.

Florida SNAP benefits are sent on the 1st and 28th of each month based on the Florida case number with the 9th and 8th digits (reading backwards) with the 10th digit removed.

You can use your Florida EBT card anywhere you see the Quest logo. This includes most major grocery store chains and certain retailers. Depending on where you live, you may be able to use your EBT card to buy groceries and have them delivered to your home.

Rewards can be used for most grocery purchases, including:

  • fruits and vegetables
  • meat, poultry, fish
  • dairy products
  • bread and cereal
  • Snack food and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Seeds or plants that produce food for domestic consumption

Items that cannot be purchased with SNAP Rewards include alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, vitamins, medicines, supplements, live animals, non-food items, and hot ready-to-eat foods.

Florida SNAP recipients can also use their EBT card to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables at farmers markets, farm stands, CSA, mobile markets, and local grocery stores.
