The Bidens will enjoy some downtime on the warmer island of St. Croix until January 2, 2023.
St. Croix is a familiar place for the president. He’s been vacationing on the island since at least when he was vice president.This week’s visit is Biden’s first as president.
The president and first lady are with their daughter Ashley, husband and two grandchildren, according to the Associated Press.

Conservatives on Twitter were quick to point to the problem Biden left behind at home: the border crisis.
The United States is still recovering from a deadly winter storm that claimed at least 28 lives in western New York alone as Biden flew out to soak up the sun.
Rep. Stacey Plaskett, a Democrat who represents the Virgin Islands in Congress, said of the president’s visit that she was “very honored.”

“Earlier, when he and his family came, of course, the sighting of President Biden was almost legendary,” Plaskett added.
St. Croix is one of the three islands that make up the United States territory in the Caribbean.

Due to the pandemic, Biden and his family spent Christmas and New Year 2020 and 2021 at home in Delaware.
