Funviralpark Police are searching for a man who broke into a Buffalo area school on December 23rd. Not to indict him for a crime, but to thank him for his selfless actions that supposedly saved several lives and his two dogs during last week’s brutal winter storm.
The man, whom police call “Merry Christmas Jay,” left a note explaining that he broke the window Friday night so he could bring some people to Pine Hill School in the Buffalo suburb of Cheektowaga. I was.
“I’m really sorry that I broke the school window. [and] Because I broke the kitchen,” the note read.
“Stuck at 8pm on Friday, slept in a truck with two strangers. Just trying not to die. Seven elderly people were also stranded and had no fuel. All , shelter, food and toilets.”

School keychains received an alarm about a break-in on Friday night, but the worsening weather prevented police from responding immediately.

When the officer finally arrived at the school later that weekend, he found a note from “Merry Christmas Jay.”
People took shelter from the storm inside Pine Hill School last Friday and Saturday.

The group ate food from the kitchen, used the gym for their children to play, and then cleaned up after themselves before leaving, police said.

When the Cheektowaga Police Department retrieved surveillance footage from inside the school, they “witnessed people taking care of people.”
“The freezer was full of food, but no one touched it. They ate only what they needed to live. Children used gyms to play, and smart boards were pulled out of classrooms. I just saw the latest news,” said the Cheektowaga Police Department.
“They had two dogs. No one knew they were there when they left safely.”
