Sacramento County – Crew members responded to Dillard Road near Highway 99 on Sunday after a completely submerged vehicle was discovered along the road.
First responders, including water rescuers and helicopter air support, assisted in the search for the vehicle. So far, the Kosmunes Fire Department has not said if anyone was in the vehicle. However, one person is reported missing. CBS13 is awaiting an official announcement regarding the rescue.
This is a developing story.
The car is one of many stranded along the road near Route 99. Dozens of motorists apparently had to be rescued from their vehicles as the Cosmnes River flooded and covered the roads.
Highway 99 between Grant Line and Dillard Road south of Elk Grove remains closed with no prospect of reopening. Caltrans is urging drivers to use I-5 instead.
