Shalimar, FL — A Florida Panhandle sheriff’s deputy was shot dead on Christmas Eve during a standoff with a suspect who was on a warrant.

Timothy Price-Williams was Cpl. Ray Hamilton at Fort Walton Beach on Saturday.

A statement from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said Hamilton had set a perimeter around the townhouse, but when Price Williams refused to evict, he was shot from inside the mansion and hit a sheriff’s deputy.

Hamilton was taken to hospital but died.

Deputies tried to issue a warrant against Price Williams on domestic violence charges, but he refused to leave the house, according to the sheriff’s office. I negotiated with the suspect to come out peacefully.

After Hamilton was shot, Price-Williams refused to leave the house for some time. When he finally got out, Price Williams acted in a manner that “caused another agent to shoot at him”.

Price-Williams was taken to hospital for treatment. He was denied bail and remained in prison on Sunday. There were no online court documents about him yet, so it was unclear if he had an attorney.
