Residents continue excavating after a historic and deadly blizzard hit parts of Buffalo, New York, in a snowy area just over a week ago.
Buffalo, New York – Almost a week after a deadly and powerful blizzard devastated the Buffalo, New York area, a state of emergency continues across Erie County.
The driving ban in place in Buffalo has since been lifted and replaced with travel advisories, with 450 devices working around the clock to continue clearing snow feet from roads throughout the region.

Also, although snow removal operations are underway, some residents say they feel that they have not done enough to help those trapped in their homes or neighborhoods since the blizzard began.
“We’ve been stuck at home since last Friday,” Buffalo resident Samaya Prescott told FOX Weather correspondent Robert Ray on Thursday morning. I had to climb from

Bill Smith, a 35-year-old Buffalo resident, told FOX Weather’s Robert Ray that the blizzard was the worst winter weather phenomenon he’d seen. , stated that it took him many days to leave the house.
Bill Smith told Ray that he had lived in Buffalo for about 35 years and had never seen anything worse than the blizzard that devastated the area a week or so ago.
“It’s been a tough, tough week,” he said. “I’m stuck at home. I can’t get out the door. I had to use a shovel to try and get out, but I finally got out. Today is my second day out.”
Smith said when the storm started, people started leaving their cars in the middle of the street because it was too difficult to drive. This is he one reason why many roads in the Buffalo area are not cleared of snow.
“What’s happened around here is that people leave their cars in the middle of the street,” he said. “And when that happens,[the plow]can’t go down the street. People are trying to help. heavy.”
