Musician Joseph “Joe Mertha” Marley, grandson of reggae superstar Bob Marley, has died at the age of 31.
Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness confirmed the news on Twitter.
“My deepest condolences to Joseph’s friends and associates, and to the fraternity and fans of reggae music around the world. It’s a big loss for music to turn to.
“In this time of goodwill, when we celebrate our love for one another with family and friends, we mourn his loss and may he find eternal peace.”

An official cause of death has not yet been released, but Miami’s WZPP Radio reports that Marley was found in his car and died of an asthma attack.
Marley was born in Jamaica to Stephen Marley (another prominent Jamaican musician), but later moved to Florida. He attended Miami-Dade College and studied studio engineering.
According to his Instagram, his last performance was on November 13th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
In 2014, Marley released his first EP titled ‘Comfortable’. In 2021, she will release Eternal.

Marley leaves behind his wife Kiara and daughter Sunshine.
After his death, fans and admirers, including house musician Gordo, flooded Marley’s comments section on Instagram.
He simply wrote “Legend”.
