The San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office has charged a man suspected of being a Stockton serial killer with four additional murders, including two in Alameda County, officials said.
Wesley Brownlee, 43, is responsible for the murders of Juan Alexander Vazquez and Marvin Harmon in Alameda County and the murders of Paul Yeo and Salvador Debdi Jr. in San Joaquin County, according to the San Joaquin District Attorney's Office. was indicted on He was also charged with the attempted murder of Natasha Latour in San Joaquin County.
“The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office continues to work with local law enforcement to ensure justice for these victims,” San Joaquin County District Attorney Tori Barber Salazar said in a statement. “We would like to thank the community for their support and law enforcement for their diligent investigation and arrest of the suspect.”
Brownlee was arrested by Stockton Police on October 15. Authorities said Brownlee was detained by police for “hunting around” for the victim early in the morning. He was first charged with the murder of his 21-year-old Jonathan Rodriguez on Oct. 18. Juan Carlos Carranza Cruz, 52 years old. Lawrence Lopez Sr., 54.
It was not previously known that Harmon was on the victim list.
Law enforcement said in November that Brownlee used an untraceable “ghost gun” in the killing. This meant that the weapon was unregistered, had no serial number, and was most likely assembled from a kit.
He is scheduled to appear before a San Joaquin County judge for an additional arraignment hearing on January 3, 2023, the district attorney’s office said.
