Blizzard update: I-90 and state highways closed, ‘no travel advisory’ issued in large area of Minnesota

A “no movement” advisory was issued for large areas of Minnesota as blizzard conditions affect roads, and officials have also announced the closure of Interstate 90 and the highway. 60 Southern Minnesota from 7pm.

The Interstate 90 closure extends from the South Dakota border to west of Albert Lea. Most state highways are also closed in southwestern Minnesota.

The Minnesota Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management made the announcement shortly before 7pm, shortly after the Minnesota Department of Transportation issued a travel ban advisory around 6pm.
