Saturday’s flight delays continued and travel was disrupted during the busy holiday season as parts of the country were hit by a deadly winter storm.
By Saturday morning, 2,000 flights to, from and within the United States have been canceled, according to flight tracking website FlightAware. More than 4,300 flights have been delayed.
According to FlightAware’s “Misery Map,” Chicago’s O’Hare, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson and Newark’s Newark airports were among the US airports most affected by delays and cancellations.
Saturday’s delays and cancellations followed days of turmoil as storms swept across the country, bringing bone-chilling temperatures and whiteout conditions, and extreme weather patterns of “bomb cyclones” were reported near the Great Lakes. I’m here.
Nearly 6,000 flights were canceled and nearly 12,000 delays in the US on Friday, according to FlightAware.
Greyhound Bus Service warned Thursday night that travel in the Midwest or northern Northeast could be canceled or suspended. and encourages passengers to check bustracker.greyhound.com for the latest information on specific routes.

More than 1.6 million homes and businesses across the country were without power on Saturday as power lines were cut by Arctic blasts and winter storms. In addition to frigid temperatures, the storm hit parts of the Midwest and East with heavy snow, blizzard conditions, and flooding along the northeastern coast. It is expected to last until Sunday.

The US Postal Service, UPS, FedEx, and Amazon have all said the weather has disrupted their operations recently.
