Storm ends but travel headaches linger as some still wait to get home

SOUTH BURLINGTON, VA (WCAX) – Travelers are still dealing with the effects of that dangerous storm. There were no delays in arrivals and departures from Burlington International Airport by Monday evening, but some people are still trying to get home for the holidays.

“My mother was very sad,” said Thomas Higgins of Essex. “I’ll see her soon, but it was hard for her not to see her.”

Higgins was on a ski trip in Utah before Christmas. He ended up being stuck for his four days, missing Christmas completely, and finally coming home on Monday.

“When I tried to go back, the delays kept coming. It was 3-4 cancellations. It kept getting delayed, kept getting delayed, and I was stuck there for another 4 days, waiting to go home for Christmas to see my family.” was not possible.

Luckily, the storm finally moved out of the country, allowing some to smoothly move to where they needed to go on vacation.
